Tax & Legal Seminar Sets New Attendance Record
The 2015 Tax & Legal Seminar, held Friday, November 13th, was attended by more than 325 people — a Tax & Legal Seminar record! Our featured speaker, Professor Samuel A. Donaldson returned by popular demand for the fourth time since 2009. Professor Donaldson is a distinguished professor of law specializing in tax law and estate planning. He is an Academic Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. Professor Donaldson’s presentation included a federal tax update, income tax aspects of family limited partnerships, and planning decisions regarding the use and disposition of a client’s body after death.
The next Tax and Legal Seminar is set for November 11, 2016, and will feature Tax & Legal Seminar favorite, Natalie Choate. Natalie Choate is returning by popular demand to the Tax & Legal Seminar for the first time since 2002. Ms. Choate is an attorney with the Boston law firm of Nutter McClennen & Fish. Her practice is limited to consultations on estate planning for retirement benefits. Her two books, Life and Death Planning for Retirement Benefits and The QPRT Manual, are leading resources for estate planning professionals. Her articles on estate planning topics have been published in ACTEC Notes, Estate Planning, Trusts and Estates, Tax Practitioners Journal and Tax Management. Ms. Choate has lectured in 49 states, Canada, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia, and has spoken at the Heckerling, Notre Dame, and Southern Federal Tax Institutes, among others. Her comments on estate and retirement planning have been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, Money, The New York Times, Newsweek, Forbes, Financial Planning and Financial World.
