LIFE & LEGACY
Securing our community’s financial future through endowment building and end-of-lifetime giving
In partnership with the Jewish Community Foundation, local Jewish organizations are positioning themselves to receive a share of the estimated $59 trillion wealth transfer projected to take place in the United States by 2052. These organizations are participants in LIFE & LEGACY, a multi-year partnership program between the Jewish Community Foundation and the Harold Grinspoon Foundation that promotes end-of-lifetime giving to Jewish day schools, synagogues, social service organizations, and other Jewish entities.
Through training, support and cash incentives, LIFE & LEGACY motivates Jewish organizations to secure legacy gifts, steward donors, and integrate legacy giving into the charitable culture of the Jewish community. Between the program’s national launch and June 30, 2020, 63 participating communities across North America have secured more than $1 BILLION in LEGACY COMMITMENTS to ensure a bright Jewish future.
Launched in Greater Phoenix in 2015, the Jewish Community Foundation and the Harold 
Grinspoon Foundation together committed $1.2 million to present LIFE & LEGACY, providing training and incentive grants to our local partners. Through LIFE & LEGACY, each of our local partners secured 72 or more end-of-lifetime gifts, which will be held and invested as permanent endowments by the Jewish Community Foundation.
Our community is indebted to the 557 individuals who have made commitments with an estimated value of more than $32.4 million through our local LIFE & LEGACY program:
