Tzedakah and tikkun olam were very important aspects of my growing up in Nebraska. We were very comfortable people who were obligated to share with others. Gifts to the temple and United Jewish Appeal were serious matters, not just checks to be put in the mail without a second thought. Giving should hurt a little.
As an adult, I have worked hard to nurture these same traits in my own children. My gift to the Jewish Community Foundation ensures my place in Phoenix’s development into a vibrant community where future generations of Jewish children have a place to call home.
