It was my life’s ambition to become a physician but getting into medical school was no easy task for a Jewish immigrant who had excellent college scores but was nevertheless a Jewish financially destitute immigrant.
After many attempts at admission the glorious letter finally arrived but there were not enough funds available to pay the tuition fees. Totally desperate, I turned to the Jewish Family Service and the local temple, and Jewish charity helped me to achieve my life’s ambition for which I am forever grateful.
